As the 308 gradually replaces the 307, Peugeot will release the new 308 CC hardtop convertible to replace the outgoing 307 CC. The four-seat, two-door coupe features an automatic folding roof that drops in just 20 sec. The car is wider than the 307 and has a redesigned interior featuring an available JBL stereo system with iPod and Bluetooth connectivity. A full airbag setup and active rollbars provide ample crash protection for occupants. An all-new side-mounted head airbag takes the place of a curtain airbag that would be found on a fixed-roof vehicle -- what Peugeot calls a world first. Passengers will be cooled or warmed by Peugeot's Airwave system implemented in each seat, which diffuses air around the neck area. Powering the 308 CC are two engines, a 1.6L turbocharged direct-injected gas engine producing 155 hp and a 2.0L HDi FAP turbodiesel four-cylinder that produces 140 hp and adheres to the strict Euro5 clean diesel standards. They can be mated to either a standard six-speed manual or optional automatic transmission. Performance and fuel economy numbers haven't been released, but are expected to be similar to the fixed-roof 308
